Credit cards with two different names/companies?

Okay, so I was approved for a Bank of America Accelerated Rewards American Express card today. It's a promotion where they are only displaying it through a banner on the Bank of America website - otherwise it's not listed anywhere in the actual cards section.

It's a legit card, and it's on the way in 7 - 10 business days. However...my question is...how does this work? The application is through the site https://wwwn.applyonlinenow.com/USCCapp/...

Bank of America verified that this is a legit site, and the application on this site is through Bank of America. They stated that this card was fomerly held by MBNA which is why it is not on bankofamerica.com. That card is now with FIA card services which is the new name for MBNA.

So my question is...how does this work in that it is "Bank of America/American Express (both logos on it)

and apparently through FIA card services, which I was informed is the new name for MBNA America.

WTF? Yet Bank of America says this card is "through them"...how can it be through so many places?

I have an American Express card already, and Bank of America says that this card I applied for, is not through American Express - but through Bank of America. Yet it has a big Bank of America logo on the top, and a big American Express logo on the bottom right. While at the same time...having apparently been bought out by Bank of America, they don't feel that it can be listed on their site because it was "bought out." What's up with this, can anyone explain who I'm going to to actually be dealing with as a company?

Basically your going to have to deal with fia card services.
You are getting an fia cred card that is who you'll owe the money to. Bank of America is I guess you could say "sponsering" it for lack of a better word. Fia is associate dwith other banks and credit unions too.

Ask them again, and tell them that you want to talk to someone that does know who's responsible for this card. I'm confused, is it American Express, or is it FIA, which is the new name for MBNA, which used to own Bank of America. Holy you know what ? What Tha ?
