Buisness major comunity college??? |
I'm 19 and havent even really thought about going to college. I work at costco and I see all the general managers majored in business and thats how they got that job. I want that to be me. **costco is not like any other wholesale group** its really fun and everyone gets paid extermly well, thats a huge part of why i want to stay and work there for awhile. I want to major is business but how do i do that? Can i do that at a community college?? what classes would i have to take. I know i dont want to be an accountant, i want to be like, customer service?? does that make sense? any tips would help me out so much OH and is it really hard to major in business? im sort of a slow learner, i guess thats why i gave up on school. maybe college will be different? i dont know. First of all, congrats to you on finding something that you enjoy and seeing a way to make a career opportunity out of it. That is awesome! Community colleges are a fantastic way to start. Most will offer some variation of an associate's degree in business. That will get you the basics of what you need. If you need a bachelor's degree to rise to the level that you want with Costco (or any other company that you choose), you can always transfer to a four-year school upon completing your associates. Starting out in a community college is a good way of getting your general classes out of the way. But you will need to transfer to a 4 year college to finish up your degree. Even if you don't want to be an accountant you will have to take some math classes. you can't actually major in anything at a community college. When you major in something you are implying a 4 year college and a Bachelor's degree. Community college is just 2 years and you walk out with an Associates degree. You are looking for a program in Business management which will give you a taste of all aspects of business. |
