Can someone tell me where I can buy a pregnancy test without having to have someone's grandpa ring me up?

This seriously frustrated me today. Long story short I need to buy a pregnancy test and I went to two different grocery store chains and one drug store looking for them. Both of the grocery stores sold ovulation tests in the tampon aisle, but had little signs that said that I have to go to the customer service desk to buy a pregnancy test. Behind the customer service desk in one store was someone's grandfather, and behind the other were two older men laughing and talking about cigarettes, which is the other thing they sell behind the counter.

The only drug store in the area is a little family owned business and apparently it was grandma's turn to run the store. I just didn't feel comfortable buying one anywhere..I thought I'd be able to use the self-checkout at the grocery stores, but I guess not.

Does anyone know where you can buy a test and use a self-checkout or at least not be stared down by paw paw when you're paying?

Is there some kind of law that says that pregnancy tests have to be sold behind the counter with the cigarettes and chewing tobacco?

They were right in the aisles in the drug stores..it seems like it's set up so that I have to be scrutinized by the cashier no matter where I go.

Unfortunately there is often a lot of theft with pregnancy tests, that's why they keep them behind the counter.

You can order them online. They are cheaper and you can get them more sensitive than store bought brands offer.

Honestly, when pregnant with my first I was TERRIFIED to buy that test. But... now that i'm wondering if #3 is on the way, I would just take my kids with me if I weren't buying them online :).

do you have a dollar store? they usually have pregnancy tests..

also, remember, your buying a test, you should not really be ashamed by it, unless your really young, people may talk, but if you thinkyou may be pregnant just go and get one.. do you know these people.. i think it may all be in your head, i dont think any old man of old lady are going to say anything other than "here you go, anything else for you?"

You are not the only one in the world buying a pregnancy test. Tons are sold in just one day. If they judge you, so what! They don't know you and have no reason to judge you! Pregnancy is part of life, and those who make you uncomfortable buying a test, are just plain stupid. There's no reason to feel awkward. But, you can buy them online, walmart, walgreens, the dollar store, tons of places.
