What kind of college do you think I could get in to?

I'm a sophomore in high school. I'm taking all Pre-AP courses now, and my junior year schedule looks like this: AP Psychology, AP Calculus AB, AP English 3, AP Biology, Newspaper (I'm business manager), Yearbook (I'm an editor), Independent Study (another journalism class), Piano. I'm taking US History as a dual college-highschool credit over the summer. I go to one of the top 100 public schools in the US, and as of freshman year, I was ranked number 52 in my class of 670. This year, I suspect my class rank might have gone up to mid 40ish. I almost always make above a 95 in all of my classes, and I've played piano since I was 5. I'm in NSHS, NHS, 3 volunteer organizations and the Activities Director in one of them, I do lots of community service, and I was in the school orchestra for 4 years. On my PSAT, i got a 1900 with no preparation, and on my PLAN (pre-ACT) i got a 29 out of 32 with no preparation (projected 30-33 score for ACT.)

What kind of college do you think I could go to?

Have you thought about your major and career path? What are your interests and goals? If you know what you want, pick the best school in that field. If you wanted to be a naval architect, for example, there are only a couple of places to choose from!

College is very competitive, and while you can clearly compete, it's still no guarantee. Go for what you want as far as career preparation, then consider secondary considerations such as size, social aspects, etc. Aim for the top college for your particular field: find the top 5 (there are guides listing top, second tier, average, etc. for dozens of majors), apply at your 2 favorites from among them; of the second-best 10 or so schools, apply at 2 more; and apply at one good school that you are very confident of acceptance.
