What do you do when credit card fraud is done at your business? |
If someone has service done at your business and tells you that their relative is going to pay for the charges and their relative gives you a credit card number over the phone and the person who had servive done at your business signs the receipt and months later you find out through the credit card companyt that the card was stolen and since the transaction was done over the phone, they credit your account for the amount that was charged on the credit card, but you know who the person who had their relatives pay for the service over the phone is, what can you do in this situation to try to get the money back from that person since the business was the one who technically paid for that persons service because the credit card company charged the business account?? Contact the card issuing company and tell them the details. They have people who specialize in this type of fraud. They can also retreive the funds for the correct party. Small Claims court claim against the person for whom you did the work if he/she will not pay the bill in a reasonable amount of time (14 days) |
