I am so close to finishing with opening my business. I need $50,000 more...I have bad credit. Any ideas?

I have an upcoming pet boutique opening in Michigan and it's going to have full service retail, grooming, puppies for sale, doggy day care...the works...it's something the town is really in to and excited about. I know it'll make a ton of money! However, I need $50,000 more to make it happen....I have bad credit. What in the world can I do, so I can make my business go before I fall through before I even get started?!?!

No lender, investor or partner will talk to you unless you provide them with a valid business plan. Go to http://www.sba.gov , http://www.score.org or http://www.bplan.com for sample business plans and instructions on how to write a business plan.

Call them and arrange for a free meeting with a SCORE counselor to review your business plan and discuss various loan options available to you.

why not bring in a partner who can contribute the extra $50,000? Also, be careful. You may thing that you only need $50,000 more but what if the sales in your first year are not as high as you expect. You may find that you really need $80,000 to $100,000 more. Re work your cash budget assuming that your sales are only 70% of your expected sales and see what happens to your cash position.

Eek, bad credit. You may need to try going to one of those loan sharks that have a high interest rate. :/ Of course, try the more reputable banks and such. If you can prove your business will generate enough in a short amount of time to pay them back (or if you fail, the whole business can be sold for their money back), they may give you that loan.
