Tipping on hair services? |
Do the same tipping rules apply if you get your hair cut or highlighted by a licensed professional who runs their own business out of their home... as opposed to someone who works at a salon. OK first off..whoever said that salons supply items for their stylists is wrong. A stylist that rents her station usually supplies all her own equipment/products. And all the money she takes in is hers (tips+whatever she charges for the services). If they work for the salon, the salon would provide the products etc & the stylist usually gets a commision on the service + her tips. In either scenario, the stylist should be tipped. Yes- you still tip 15-20% of the cost of the service. People who work from home have to purchase all their own materials, whereas those who work at a salon have theirs supplied for them, but they pay the establishment a "chair fee" for their area and a percentage of the monies for services rendered. So yes, regardless, always tip! rule tipping ...if itsthose poor girls at walmart working hard then yesss cause they get minmum wage...and tips is something they really need.....or any hair dresser for that mater after all they dont get an actual pay check from the gov anywayz Twenty percent, if you plan on ever coming back. |
