I'm thinking about opening a catering or event planning business.?

Would it be wise to offer the client free service as long as they provide the money to pay for food, decorations, etc.?

I'm for one time only, the first time. And only to large businesses like Hospitals etc.

I wouldn't necessarily say "free service" but rather service is included. To me, anytime something is FREE is seems they are desperate for clients/customers. You don't wanna seem desperate for their business.

You have to make a profit. And if you are making a profit from the food, decorations, etc, its not really considered free services. They should pay for the cost of food, decorations, etc, plus they need to pay for the time you spend setting up, preparing, etc. dont forget about adding in the gas expenses. So basically you are a service based business which means they need to pay for service.
