Good Luck!

Looking at your question, it looks like you are trying to do a DIY job on your site. I would strongly suggest you do not do this!

A homemade site for a business is a bit like fitting out your own shop, it will look amateur however hard you try! There is a lot more to professional web development than people realise and since your website is the world's view of your business you need it to look professional as well as have it working 100% correctly.

Don't skimp on web development, budget a couple of thousand pounds and get the job done well and look like a trustworthy professional business rather than a dubious backstreet operator!

There is so much more to web development than knocking up a few pages that look OK, you may not even think of important issues such as how well Google can read your site and how it will list you. An amateur will never get all of these issues correct, so go and talk to someone like myself ;)

If you do want to continue with the DIY approach, read my article on domain registration http://ezinearticles.com/?Your-Domain-Is...

For hosting, I would recommend going to the US where prices are far cheaper and customer service is much better, I use Hostagtor who I have provided a link to below. (The link includes my affiliate information which gives me a small cut of any sign-ups, you can edit if you don't want to give me a cut, but I must stress I really do use them for my own and customer's hosting, I think they are both cheap and reliable)

the cheapest place for a uk domain is 123-reg.co.uk and as others have suggested paypal is a good start although worldpay is easy to set up but has higher fees. See http://www.smallbusinesspro.co.uk as well for more ideas.

godaddy.com are another site for your domain names and hosting.
Your easiest options for a small buisness to accept credit/debit cards are one of the following:

googlecheckout.com
paypal.com
nochex.com

If you have a business bank account and believe you will process a large number of orders hen talk to your bank most have a credit card processing program for websites (like the royal bank of scotlands worldpay.com service).
