What can I do to convince an airline to service my hometown?

We had great service from TW Express and American Connection, but now we have Essential Air Service from a company that happened to be the lowest bidder but doesn't provide any USEFUL service.

When an airline provides service to a hub city and allows a one-plane-change transfer to many destinations, my community has provided enough business and revenue to sustatain service.

How can I get the attention of the regional airlines (Mesaba, ComAir, etc) to take a look at my community and region and make a case for them to provide meaningful air service to my airport?

Yes i want to go on holidays and i am trying to persuade the airlines here to make a stop off from Heathrow and land in my back yard or just throw a rope and ladder down to me i can grab onto and pull myself up with my suitcases. I have suggested this idea but they said that it cant be done ...

Something to do with it would not generate enough revenue for the company....and health and safety banning it.

Ah well thats life :p

If you can find out how its done please let me know, yes no more trips to the airport for me ;)
