Funeral home work experience?

Mortuary science has been a field that has always interested me, but I have decided to take up a different field--recreation and tourism. Not like a travel agent, I'm more into the business aspect of it planning events and running programs for something like with the national park service. Work experience is important in this field, including internships and letters of recommendations. Do you think doing an internship in a funeral home would be good experience? The way I see it as it's helping people during a crisis and high-stress environment. This is a smaller city and the funeral homes are small and family owned. I probably couldn't expect a wage, and also because I wouldn't work enough hours to justify a salary. This would add diversity to my skills. It's not like I'm doing this just for a resume, funeral services have always interested me and I could see myself eventually working in one. I just don't want to my entire career. Would this be good experience on a resume?

Any experience looks good on a resume. And this is a job few people actually want, or are willing to do. This shows you are good working in a high stress environment with people during a time of crisis. Good luck!
