Is leaving me home alone and not getting me my bi polar meds neglect on my fathers part? |
I am fifteen years old. I live with my father. He recently divorced his second wife, and since she left he will not get me my bi polar medication that I desprately need. Also, he goes on frequent business trips and leaves me here alone without money or anyone to check on me. Last time, it was 4 days and he told me i could stay over at his friend Jody's house one day. I called him that day and he flipped on me telling me to go home saying he never said I could stay there. Jody kept me over night anyways because she didnt want me to get hurt home alone, and my dad grounded me because she kept me there. He is no longer allowing me to go there. He also is mentally abusive and demeaning. He says things to make me feel bad on purpose. He also broke my laptop in half because i took it from my brother. I do the cooking, cleaning, and taking care of my brother. My friend who is 20 wants to call Social services on him, should I let her? What would happen? Can he afford the medication? There must be a reason why he is not getting them. Why don't you just go and get them, if they were percribed to you there shouldn't be a problem. If your friend calls social services you and your brother will have to go live with another family member or in foster care. Many children are having to raise their family and take care of the house while their parents are gone or have a problem. Your father sounds really overwhelmed and all you can do with his rude comments is ignore them. You've made it so far in another year you can get a job and not have to deal with him. hey hun i dont know whether you have contact with your mum or if anything has happened to her forgive me if it has but you need all the help and support you can get, at 15 you are not allowed by law to be left home alone, also if you need help see your gp tell him what is happening you have a health visitor at your gps practise she can help you get support for all of you your dad included, it sounds as though he isnt coping to well with the situation either ,or if your to scared they may bring in social services they will only help you they wont take you into care or anything if thats what worries you they will give you advice and a part time carer for you and your brother You dont say how old he is ? what about your friend jodys parents, have you tried talkin to her mum perhaps or a teacher at school get the help sweetie you need it i have bipolar and as an adult i no how you need your medication please promise me you will get some help just by asking on here you are on the way to getting it best of luck sweetheart if i can help you more email me . x |
