Been sprung! What do I say?

I was given the work car to drive until we recruited a new coordinator.
I was to drive the car as it was brand new and didnt want to leave it overnight on the premises - that was not occupied at night or over the weekend.
I've put it in for its first service at 1000 kilometres. I was supposed to only drive it to and from work, but I was cheeky and drove it on the weekends as well.
My boss asked - 'Holy dooly - why have you done 1000k's already? Have you been driving it on the weekends also?'
I said, 'Yes, sometimes.'

She was abused by higher bodies in the business and tomorrow I have to explain why I thought I was allowed to drive it on the weekends.

What do I say?

Apologize and offer to pay for the service.

Tell the truth.

You are sprung so there is no point compounding the problem by lying. That would only make you look worse if you lie.

You most likely will get a warning and not get access to the company car again.

"Here is my resignation"

Tell them oopsy I thought I could drive it on the weekend. I mean what else are you going to say?
