How can i boost the sales in a salon business w/in a budget and within reasonably priced services (as in)? |
consider this:provincial setting, good service, quality products, competitive hairdressers & thrifty customers. charge less then anyone else. Hire some college kids to pass out flyers with possible discount coupons on them at a local shopping center or mall. You can even pay the kid with a hair styling, and a facial/makeup, so you get on the spot advertisement. A "live model" would be great for convincing potential customers that you know what you are doing. Well the best type of advertising is free: Word of mouth. You need to figure out how to get a buzz going about your store. Maybe you can give existing customers a precentage off thir next visit if they promise to bring a friend with them next time they come. Or maybe a buy one get one half off cupon. have an Ala-cart. this will let your customers decide if they want to pay more for hair wash (once you wash a mans hair they are hooked!) dry the hair, extra conditioner. i worked for a lady that did this and she did a wonderful job at increasing her volume of sales. if you also let people have walk-ins and instead of pushing the products on a person, always tell them what you are using on them. if they like it, they will ask for it when checking out. we also did benefit haircuts twice a year for a Saturday. it worked out really well to get new customers. Get involved in the city you are in... Chambers, Charities, local businesses. Some Salons offer services at a discount price one day of the week. A customer like myself would wait for that special day, let's say "Wednesday" to receive services at a discount price. Sales would also increase with tips. Try Ads.....Internet, Yellow Pages, Radio, Newspapers.....Try to get some feedback from your customers....Be friendly & nice about it !! If they are happy with your service and your sincere interest in improving the already quality service, then they'll pass it on (Word of Mouth works best !!) .....Have "specials"...Have a special day every 3 months when you have discount prices etc....Just throwing ideas here....if you try them, let me know if it works !! |
