Should i report a claim?

I am a former customer of the Skinovative laser center. About a month ago, i bought a prepaid package of chemical peels for acne for about $473. Couple days after purchasing the package i tried to call them to book my appointment but i found out that they temporarly closed the store due to not having a medical director to run thier business. I waited two to three weeks and still couldn't get a hold of anyone. Finally i found out that they closed the store permanently and due to bankrupcy or something, they will not be able to refund any money to any customer. I got worried and tried to reach them but the phone is disconnected and there is no other way to get a hold of them. A girl that used to work there as a cashier told me that they will never refund the money back. I am really worried now because I am a student and can't afford to give up that money. Would you please give me some suggestions? and should i report a claim? if so, how do you do that? thanks.

How did you pay them, if by credit card, call your bank and have them reverse the charge?

Always pay for stuff like that with a credit card, it's safer.

Confirm that this is a real bankruptcy and get listed as a creditor if it is. If there is any wind up money you may get some small part of it.

If this is not a bankruptcy, it is a fraud and you should take that to the police.

But you are a non-secured creditor. In most bankruptcies little or no money goes to your class of creditor. You have to forget it and move on, treat this as a learning experience. You pay when services are rendered.
