I want to open a daycare center with government grants because I have no money and bad credit. Can anyone help

I know there is tons of money put up in the government that can be used for grants, and it seems like I should be able to access some of that, especially for a child care program. I have done some research online and there's just too much to look at, and I don't even know what is real and what is a waste of time. I have another friend that has some business training, and I have child care experience. Having a day care is my #1 goal in life!!!!!!!!! I have never wanted anything more, but I know this can be a very confusing and time consuming project so any help and information is appreciated!

Go to http://www.grants.gov for a list of government grants and how you can apply for them. However, there are no grants for a for profit business unless you are opening a daycare and then it is a minimal amount. If you need money, you will need to apply for a loan. No lender will talk to you unless you provide them with a valid business plan. Go to http://www.sba.gov , http://www.score.org or http://www.bplan.com for sample business plans and instructions on how to write a business plan.

Then, go to http://www.score.org/ and in the upper left hand corner, enter your zip code. On the next screen, you will get information on the nearest SCORE chapter. Call them and arrange for a free meeting with a SCORE counselor to review your business plan and discuss various loan options available to you.

I don't know about how to go about getting a grant, but i do know that a for-profit daycare does not qualify for a grant. You can try to contact your local Small Business Association or go online http://www.sbaloannetwork.com/ and apply for a small business loan. It won't hurt to apply and just see if you qualify! I got a loan from my bank, but I had established credit with them previous to my application for a $10,000 loan. Best of luck to you!
