How do the Democrats plan to pay for their Health Care Care plans? |
Hillary and Obama both agree that letting Bushes Tax Cuts For The Rich expire, and then using the money saved to pay for the beginning their health care plans. taking the 12 billion a month from Iraq and give it back to US. The Republicans like to spend 12B a week in Iraq, I think that explains it. How do republicans plan to pay us back for a 2 Trillion dollar war? Get rid of the tax cuts for the wealthiest 1% of Americans and get out of the Iraq war that costs us billions of dollars per month. Higher taxes on everything and everybody by taxing everyone else. I guess Democrats have a problem with borrowing billions of dollars that we don't have. It's like credit cards: spend, spend spend, you keep the money in your pocket right now but the debt is still there. They plan on adding taxes for the "rich" and big business. Both of these ideas seem fruitless to me. Pouring money into the bottom doesn't make any sense to me, yes I am a republican. I am not aware of what HIllary considers 'rich" but my understanding is that Obamas idea is a household making 75 k or more. I think that must be his idea of a joke. I would like to see what he would do with 2 kids going to college, paying a mortgage, all the bills, no aid and tell me then, and olny then that 75k a year is rich. Let the tax cuts expire, pull out of Iraq, remove the social secutity cap. Tax everyone at a fair rate, including corporations. We would have money in the bank, instead of 5% of the people controlling 90% of the money it would build a stronger economy by putting money in the middleclass and lowerclass. Their are some simple answers to these problems. Run the country like your grandmother ran her house. what you say makes sense...paying for universal health care could be done with the money we won't be spending in iraq fighting bush's war...that makes "sense" too--until one realizes we aren't spending our money; we have borrowed all the war money from other countries. This is how it will work: if you work, then in all likelihood you have insurance. You will not have to buy a different one, but you can, if the one the government provides suits you better. If you work for wages and do not have health insurance, then the government will give you choices to fit your needs and withhold the money out of your paycheck. Basically that's what employers do already when they provide health care---they garnish your check and send the money to Aetna or whatever insurance provider they use--so there is really not much difference in the government doing that. When the tax breaks for the rich expire the government has the money to fund medicaid for the poor and medicare for the seniors and disabled. This is very economical, because first of all, it will limit the competition between the insurance providers and force them to provide better plans. Right now they can exclude for pre-existing conditions or slam you with a huge extra deductible. In addition, it will reduce the huge amount of tax dollars spent in emergency rooms for the uninsured, again freeing badly needed tax dollars for other purposes. So the majority of the funding is already taken care of by withholding the premiums from paychecks, and the rest is just gonna fall into place.... The democrats answer to everything is to raise taxes. |
