Want to open a small business.?

If I want to open a daycare center, how would i go about doing it? I don't want to start in my home.

DON'T DO IT!! Just kidding, I had a daycare of my own for 9 years. If you are going to keep more than 4 kids, including your own, you need to get licensed by the state. Check with your state to see how to do that. You will have to have an inspection of your daycare to start business, approved meals and snacks, background checks on you and your employees, and keep very accurate records for your income taxes. If you have employees you will also have to pay payroll taxes, property taxes on your site and contents, and unemployment taxes. If you think you are going to get rich owning a daycare, it won't happen. If you are just wanting to supplement your family income so you can stay home with your own children when they are small (that's why I did it), stick to keeping a couple of kids in your home.

Buy or lease a large property.
Fill it with kid's stuff.
Get the permits and whatever certification you need.
Advertise in the local paper and around schools in the area.
