HOME DAYCARE: Is it a difficult business to get into? Do people prefer daycare centers over homes? Need info.. |
I'm thinking of having a small daycare in my home for about 2-4 children, but I can't seem to find any information on how to start one out of one's home. My house is clean and sanitary and I am certified in First Aid. Would I need a license AND certification to run a daycare? Would I be allowed to take the children on short field trips like I had when I was in daycare? I already have a schedule in mind for activities, meals and naptime. I also understand that mothers don't appreciate too much cuddling of their children since the daycare person is not the mother. I just think that I can provide a warm, safe atmosphere for children whose mothers have to work, but do people prefer to take their children to an actual daycare center? I appreciate your honest opinions. that all depends on where you live really. where i live in canada my son is in an in home daycare that isnt registered. there isnt anything wrong with having an unregistered daycare (my son is seven and has spent four years all told in unregistered) and i for one prefer having my son there as it is more one on one time when and if its needed. most in home daycares are also more flexible in their hours of operation and what they charge. mostly it depends on where you live and how many kids you are going to take from what age ranges that will dictate whether or not you have to be registered. most places also have a local child care development center if not then try your local health nurses because they usually have information on what child care programs are available ...........if you have any kind of child care subsidy program where the governement pays a portion of the child care costs they are also an excellent source of information Take a look at this. It should help |
