What kind of business is not pet related but would attract pet lovers?

I'm helping to set up a fair for the Humane Society of Harford County (http://www.harfordshelter.org) and I've set out flyers to vets, pet related retailers, pet sitters, groomers, etc. I want to send out flyers to non-pet centered businesses but I can't think of any that would have a lot of pet lovers frequenting.

I think anything that is family/kid related would also have pet lovers frequenting it.

A toy store? A preschool or daycare? How about local photographers?

My son's preschool did a "cutest pet contest" It was put on by a local shelter and the children at the preschool got to be the judges. It got a huge amount of attention- all the kids wanted to enter their pets in the contest, so it got the attention of the parents as well because they had to be involved in entering the pet's pics (the kids can't do that themselves)

any businesses. try little local places, not big chains. The tips jar for my SPCA get a lot from the local ice cream parlor. Try places that are frequented with kids. Kids like pets and they will notice, maybe show their parents.

You would be surprised. Pet lovers are everywhere!!! Send them everywhere. I hope Hartford county has a great turn out I wish you the best!!!

Anywhere almost evrywhere you go at least 1 person has to have a pet. If you had at least one person for each place that' s still good. Good Luck with it.

I would post at local coffee shops--I know a lot of us pet lovers/owners frequent these places because we can sit outside with our dogs and enjoy coffee and company (and the newspaper). Also if you have any co-ops or all-natural organic grocery stores (like Whole Foods) I'd get some stuff up there too--this is the place a lot of pet owners find their holistic, organic pet food and other supplies (like kitty litter). Also any "farm stores" like Farm & Fleet, Rural King, or Southern States attract a lot of pet business. Also investigate apartment complexes in your area that might be "pet friendly" and post a flyer on their bulletin board.
