Annoying, self and business/company centered manager...? |
I've been working at McDonalds for almost a month and to my amazement, it's a pretty decent job. My co-workers are supportive and I rarely have a bad customer. But a problem lies with the store manager. I would describe her as one of those manager's whose been in a manager's position for so long that they've forgotten how it was to be a "regular" employee. She's more worried about her store, and customers than she is about the staff underneath her. When she's working, its quite unbareable for me and other co-workers to do their jobs. McDonalds becomes very busy between the hours of 11am to 2pm; and all workers are stressed and working to the best of their ability. But somehow, she assume's we are magical and we can do 7 things at once. I remember when I was cleaning the lobby and I told her since I don't have slip free shoes, I wouldn't feel comfortable on a wet floor. So she responded, "You will be okay, just be careful." Should I complain or just transfer to another store? Working is all about learning to deal with difficult people. Count yourself lucky to have a job and that the rest of your co-workers are decent. It sounds to me like she doesn't handle stress very well because she cares about her job and the company. Sometimes these people aren't aware of how they are coming off. Maybe someone who has been there longer could have a talk with her, when it isn't so crazy. Either way, don't think transferring or quiting is the answer. No job is perfect and there will always be one that drives you crazy. Use this opportunity to learn and forgive. Good luck |
