Question about those experienced with lab testing centers?

Do lab testing centers (where doctors send blood work, samples, etc.) open on the weekends to do testing? Or do they work only on typical business days? Also do they mail out results or usually fax results?

It depends on the lab. Many use significant automation and run samples at night. Labs attached to hospitals can run tests at any time. Many clinical chemistry and immunoasssay tests can give results in a few hours. Tests that require microbial culture are usually not conclusive for 14 days. Results are usually e-mailed to the M.D.
