Starting a business immediately after highschool.?

I was wondering if it would be advantageous for me to start my own LAN center right after highschool. I have all the knowlege to set it up, run, and manage it myself. I did some math and it will be about $450,000 start up. I either wanted to do that or make my own computer repair business with a friend of mine. That would only take about $50,000 start up, but would be less profitable. I am also debating whether or not to start college right away or to wait a year. I am going to major in 3d Animation and minor in network security. Thanks for the help.

Great idea! I love your spirit, man!

I prefer to suggest the LAN business. First, you will be a single fighter in the business battle field and that's different when you are doing something new with a friend. Or are you ready for disagreement, shared decision making, etc, with him/her eventhough he/she is your best buddy? Also, you already know that the shared business is less profitable.

I also suggest you start your business first. Work and develop it within 1-2 years then go to college. You can finance your study from the profit of your business and you will study the subjects easier because you have worked on them, practically, everyday before you start the college. You have mastered the subjects somehow.

It would probably be tough to get the loan for the LAN center, but the computer repair company sounds like a good idea--I know a guy who did that and it worked well for him. It could be a fundraiser for your other business. Also, you could start it up for even less if you work out of the home doing computer repair--you would just need to advertise, and you probably have a workshop already.

I would start with Computer Repair... I don't know why you need $50K to start it though.

You are young and coming out of high school, if I were you I would look for businesses with a need for computer repair, gain their trust without a formal business setup... Once you have a few businesses under your services, hire your friend and let him work for you. Give him a cut of any new business he brings in.

It is hard to help you on here, Please email me and I would be happy to give you an opportunity you wont be able to pass up. How much would you make with a computer repair business? Annual pay check of say $50,000 after taxes? Well I can help you start your own business that has been PROVEN (and I can show you how) to make you successful with my company. Please take this seriously, as I know it must be hard with all the scams out there that promise you the world. I hope to hear from you soon
