Where would the people who work in midtown's business district or the Empire State Building live at?

Or where do the people whom work in Lower manhattan live at?
This can include the people who worked in/will work in the World Trade Center as well. What was the most common part of the NYC area that drew most of the evening commute?

Most people who work in those tall skyscrapers of Manhattan live in Brooklyn, The Bronx, Queens, or even the NJ cities.

They get to work via subway or taxi cab.

A few others come from the Village or Northern manhattan as well via subway or taxicab.

Brooklyn, Staten Island, & Bayonne housed many of the lower manhattan workers in the Twin towers and will also be the home of the future employees of the new WTC in Freedom Tower.
