Why do pregnant women think the world centers around them and that everyone has to accomadate them?

There are 2 pregnant women at my job. The repeatedly call in or show up late for work, making the rest of our jobs difficult. Last week we had no cashier in our store for hours because one of them called in. I have been pregnant myself and only missed one day the entire time no matter how sick I was. I never went to a doctor until my baby was born because I couldn't afford to and my daughter was born perfectly healthy with no problems despite my not running to the doctor every moment.
Both of these women are unmarried and already have children so neither of them has any business having another child. I am tired of having my schedule changed so that my coworker because my coworker has an appointment or doesn't feel good. I have a child too and don't like to have to change plans to accomadate my coworker. They want to make the money but want to have everyone else do their job which makes it harder on me. I have to lift everything now even though I only weigh 90 lbs myself.

I lifted stuff when I was pregnant and got no special treatment from my employer or family . If women want to be truly equal they need to stop wanting special treatment. If they can't do the job, they need to take off, if they can't afford to, then they don't need to be having another child.

I agree with you, but at least they're working and not on Public Assistant.

i feel sympathy toward them, poor women.

everyone loves takin advantage

Welcome to leftist programs, where women must be given the same pay and opportunities as men, and yet not work as hard.

I understand your frustration, but it isn't with the other pregnant women at your job. It is a societal problem -- the fact that ALL women in this day and age have no support at home and in the workplace suggests there needs to be changes. The fact that you and other working women have to work right up to the delivery date, and then get right back to work shortly after delivery and bypassing quality time for healing -- for you -- and caring for you newborn is a problem. You must be able to feel entitled to bring you child into the world, and have the resources to be able to do so.

I feel for you to a point because you should not have to compromise your time with your child because they are pregnant BUT every pregnancy is different and just because you were able to work through it others are not as lucky. Many women deal with severe morning sickness and thank goodness your baby came out healthy without doctors visits, once again not all women are as lucky. And if these women are able to go to the doctor you should not knock them for it. I also did not agree with your statement about them having another child out of wed lock. What business is that of yours? They are working and taking care of their own. It is their life not yours so don't judge them.

It all depends on the pregnancy. I am pregnant with my 4th child and so far no problems however with my last child and my first I had pre eclampsia and I did have to take it easy the last 2 months unless I felt like going to an early grave. With my 2nd and until my 7th month with my last I worked as normal with no restrictions.
As far as not going to the Doctor, there are programs to help women that are pregnant and cannot afford medical care. You are so lucky that there was no problems but why risk your self or your unborn child?

I sympathize, because this happens at my job, too, and often results in more work for me for months at a time when a colleague takes maternity leave.

Maybe you were tougher than these girls; but a lot of this is no longer under their control. You just have to put up with it, like I do.

And like others here have pointed out, at least these single moms are working, not sitting at home on welfare.
