Can anyone tell me why some if not all call centers here in the Philippines require applicants to have a B.S.?

A B.S. Degree in any field at that! I can understand the higher education, but one with a B.S. in Agriculture has meet the same requirement as one with a degree in Telecommunication, Marketing, Business Management etc...... Basically to answer calls and take customers orders?

I think all the call centers want is a proven track record in finishing college. Finishing college, preferably in a reputable university, shows some determination and discipline. This is not specific to any field or major. The call centers are just looking for general traits of achievements.

The experience in the call center can be achieved through training and practice. The call centers just want people who have actually the drive and motivation to finish their schooling.
