Can anyone tell me some courses to help me get a receptionist/serceratary job?

Can anyone tell me what I can do to help me get a job as a receptionist or something similar...I have years of expeierence working in copy and print centers doing business work but I would also like to add some courses to my resume. Something quick and easythough...Just wondering what they look for! thank you

you might want to take some typing and our administrative courses. But if your looking for someone to give you an opportunity ASAP, you might consider going to a temp agency and getting a temp position in a receptionist field. most of the time its a 3 month assignment but most companies like to keep you permanent. It is the best way to go. and if you dont want to leave a job you may have right now with benefits for something temp. It might be worth just having two jobs for the next three months. A temp position is definately the best way to put some experience on your resume.

Improve your typing skills if they aren't already top notch, familiarize yourself with filing techniques, polish up on your phone and people skills, learn the latest word processing computer programs, make sure your appearance is always neat with no trendy hairdos or too many piercings, and smile. Check out the adult continuing education classes available at most community colleges. A brief course in administrative skills would be beneficial. Many of the temporary agencies allow you to train in their offices once you sign up with them.
