Good universities//colleges in manhattan?

i lived in ny for most of my life and just moved to new jersey. i've always wanted to go to college in manhattan, because its the center of the business world, its close to home, and i love manhattan! always did..(perfect!) anyway so i'll be applying to colleges next year and i wanted to get a head start...what are some good schools for business in manhattan? pace? fordham? hunter college? any info would help! (please don't say NYU, that's a given. i'm going to apply there anyway, i'm a good student, but i still don't think i have a very big chance, and its very expensive, and my family's pretty much broke lol)

=) thanks to anyone that answers

oh btw is rutgers better than, equal to, or not as great as the schools in manhattan?

Simply being in Manhattan does not make a school great--so there are going to be schools that are better than Rutgers, and there are going to be schools that are worse. The most important thing is to find the school that fits you best. I have a close relative who went to Rutgers, graduated with an MBA in five years, and has done extremely well for himself. If you are a good student with the attributes businesses are looking for, you can do well with a degree from Rutgers (or anywhere else).

Hunter College is a CUNY school. You would have to pay out-of-state tuition, and you would also have to find a place to stay. (CUNY schools do not really have dorms.) Additionally, the CUNY that is most business-centric is Baruch College, so if you're interested in business and are thinking of a CUNY, think about Baruch.

Fordham has undergrad business minors and 5-year MBA programs. There are two campuses--Lincoln Center, which is smack-dab in the middle of Manhattan, and Rose Hill, which has a very nice campus in the Bronx. It has a really good reputation, and its star is supposedly on the rise. (Rose Hill might be easier to get into, but it is right on the subway line and has easy access to Manhattan.)

Not sure about Pace's reputation, but being in the center of the business world (and downtown, where its campus is, you can't get any closer), there are a myriad of opportunities available for good students who are motivated to do well. Pace is also extremely expensive. (Fordham ain't cheap, either.)

One thing to consider is financial aid--if your family is as broke as you say, you may qualify for significant aid that will make college more affordable. Some will have to be paid back, and some may be in the form of grants, which you do not have to pay back. Good luck!

Columbia and NYU are two of the best in the World.
