Do you consider the world trade center bombing and the hijackings acts of war?

Millions of dollars have been given to the families of the world trade center bombing which is ok with me.
I recently lost a friend in Iraq, but no one is making a huge deal out of it and sending her mom, dad and child money.
What is the difference? Is it because she volunteered and the people in the trade center were just innocent people going about their daily business.
My friend left behind a 7 yr old child.

I agree with you. The survivors of the WTC victims are a bunch of greedy classless leeches. The money would have been much better spent in a fund for the family of real heroes

Although I do see the attacks as an act of war by al-Qaeda (I lost a classmate of mine on the flight into the Pentagon), what country outside of the Taliban government in Afghanistan is to blame? We need to further the development of small elite forces whose job it is to locate and destroy terrorist units as well as to remain on as good terms as possible with the nations in the Middle East and South Asia.

I am so sorry to hear of your brave friend's death, even though I don't know you or her.

I believe, though, that because the victims of the trade center attacks were civilians who boarded a plane rather than signing up to fight that is the difference. People sue when they're not protected from crimes sometimes, and they sue when accidents happen as well.

When it comes to money, I don't doubt that people haven't made a big deal out of the death of your friend. I can assure you, though, that while there may have been no particular big deal made over her death there is a country full of people who - in their own houses and own hearts and minds - all ache together for the loss of someone like your friend or others who have been killed in Iraq. Its not a showy big deal, and its not a money big deal; but it is about as big a deal as it gets when so many people in this country think about, pray for, and grieve the loss of our soldiers every time we hear of a death and every time we hear of Iraq and every time yet someone else is lost. It is silent most of the time, but whenever so many people of a nation have broken hearts for lost soldiers it is a far bigger deal collectively than it may appear to you.

As I sit here, thinking about your question, I am sobered to think of your friend's child and parents. I, personally, think the families of soldiers deserve far more than they get, but I guess her signing on to take the risks she had to take is what made the difference.

the trade center is not a war but is being portrayed as such by people who wish to further american interests every where....as a matter of fact it is turning away the american people away because more and more are realizing that the way things have been and are being conducted will make america and americans a lesser safer place and people....

no, because I dont think we really know who did it. and it seems this war is not in retalition but had other causes like we are short of oil
