Where should I stay in San Francisco? |
I'm visiting San Francisco (first time) in October for a week-long business trip; the conference is at the Moscone Conv Center. There are a buch of hotels around the convention Center, but I'm looking to get some input on where the best place is to stay. I like to go out partying...bars, live music, etc. Is the area of the convention center good for that? Any other sections of the city I should keep in mind? Most of the club scene in San Francisco is in SoMa (South of Market) and the Mission District, so you will be perfectly situated in a hotel near Moscone Center. Terrific hotels in that area include the W Hotel and the Argent. Hotel Nikko is just a little farther away and also decent. You could also try side trips to Hayes Valley and/or Fillmore Street, but SoMa/Mission is where most of the under-40 crowd ends up at night. go to citysearch.com and check around.lol Stay at one of their finest hotels, and then travel on to Coronado Island to the Coronado Island Inn and visit there for a while it's nice and other places to visit are close, the scenery is beautiful at night. Enjoy yourself ! I would look into the historic Mark Hopkins hotel. It's centrally located within S.F., and is only minutes away from Market St. and attractions within the area. Also, in the S.F. Chronicle, they publish an entertainment magazine called "the Pink Section". You might want to look into their website, and find happenings for the time you plan on visiting. Lots of things to do in S.F. and the weather now is back to normal. Be sure to pack a jacket for the evenings because when the fog comes in, it can be rather cool. Have a great time! www.sfstation.com |
