Why do some people get so upset at the suggestion that...?

the current situation in the middle east is our own fault. I've actually met people who believe that we (the united states) was minding its own business, doing nothing but good in the world when the world trade center was destroyed.

The people in the towers may not have been combatants, but innocent??? Like everyone else in america (including myself) they were certainly complicit.

Why is it so hard to accept the fact that the chickens have come home to roost.

Our government and other conservatives love to imply that we were attacked without cause by people who hate without reason.

But the truth is, WE'VE made our bed. What I don't understand is why so many of us are having so much trouble lying in it.

We have done little to actually make the situation better in the last several years, I agree with you in that. However, a large part of the problem there began in the period after WWII. England played a major role in that. The resettlement situation has never been resolved. The world simply ignored the displaced persons and until that is resolved the problems will certainly continue.

I don't agree at all with the implication made that all those people that died because of what happened (firefighters, police, workers, maintenance in the building, receptionists...) is because of their actions. That is what I kind of got from your question, that we "reap what we sew" and that doesn't ever mean that killing innocent people is acceptable, in either countries!!

There are various factors in foreign policy that will anger some in the world, you can't please everybody, but it doesn't help to get mixed up in wars that achieve nothing positive for the country either.

Not once in your rant did you say how or why Americans did anything that came close to deserving 9/11!! Stop believing the Liberal Left's rhetoric. Instead, try reading transcripts of Iran and other radicalists' speeches to their own people...not the stuff intended for our Liberal media. That is not rhetoric, my friend, that is true heartfelt hatred and a serious threat. This is a war of ideologies not politics. The radical Muslim world hates everything about the Western lifestyle.They want to see it destroyed. You asked the question why do people get so mad. They get so upset because it's not true! I have not done anything to oppress the terrorists. They are welcome to do what they choose in their own country, in their own religion, as long as it is not hurting anyone. But they do not have a right to kill innocent people, and you are a traitor to this country if you believe they have a right to come in and attack us and kill us.
