Connecticut requirements for short term sub teachers?

I am currently going to school for my associates in ECE. When I am done I would like to take some business classes becuase my main goal is to someday open my own home daycare center (I am only 20y/o & do not yet have a place of my own to do this)

I have had my current job at a childcare center since i was 16 (4 years) and I love it, I love the children and I love my co-workers - but there are many things there that are going downhill. When I am finished with most of my classes (which may not be for another year) I want to look into sub teaching until my fiancee and I find a house of our own (and until I am finished going through the process to get licenced for my daycare) ...

Does anybody know what the requirements are in Connecticut for a sub teacher? My mom went to do it about a year ago and they said all she needed to do was have a High school education, get fingerprinted, and fill out the applications. I read somewhere that they require a B.A - i've never heard of that before

My sister was a sub teacher in Bethlehem, ct before she had her B.A. This was probably 10 years ago, however, so I don't know if it has changed since then, but I do not believe it has. Thats the best I can tell you...

Are you asking for a substitute teacher? I can answer for California, with the No Child Left Behid laws, any teacher needs to be highly qualified, even for substitute work. That means that a teacher needs a teaching credential, clear professional to teach. Some districts allow a Bachelors degree, pass the CBEST test, and other requirements.
