Does my car insurance cover it or will I have to pay out of my pocket?

My car was keyed at my college last Thrusday, I did file a police report but I have to wait 7-10 business days... I have a 1000 dollar deductable and when I went to Sidners collision center they said it would cost between 2000-3000 dollars.. I have AAA so they also said I would get a discount since I have AAA. I was wondering I dont have a witness and no one is at fault does that mean that my insurance wont cover it and I will have to pay it all myself? BTW no i dont have vandalism coverage.....

I have a suspicion that one of my friends did it.... because he saw me in the skool parking lot that morning, he probably saw where I parked.. he likes me and he know I have a boyfriend... he knows my car, and that night in our math class AFTER I TOLD HIM MY CAR WAS KEYED he told me he keyed some girls car after she cut him off..... he didnt descirbe the car he keyed and then the more I talked about it the more he laughed. Then I showed him the damaged and he laughed more and said "Someone was pissed off at you" but the thing is I dont know anyone who has a problem with me and I dont have a problem with anyone.

if you have "comprehensive" coverage then you are covered, that covers fire, theft and vandalism. however, you will have to pay the $1000 deductible out of your pocket, which if it costs $3000, isn't bad, you only have to pay a third. you may want to weigh the odds of placing a claim though, it can make your rates go up and may end up actually costing you more in the long run rather than paying for all the damage out of pocket. talk to your insurance agent/claim representative, they will explain everything to you. good luck!

If you don't have the coverage on your insurance, and there is no one you know that did it that you can collect from, you will have to pay for it yourself.

if your company doesnt cover vandalism, then you will be paying out of pocket.

You'll probably end up having to pay for it yourself....even if you had the coverage, you'd still have to pay the detuctible.

By reporting to the police within 24hrs of incident you have adequate means to lay claim if the damage is covered by your insurance. The claim should have been done same day as reporting to the cops.

WITHOUT ANY WITNESSES AND IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE COVERAGE THEN YOU WILL UNFORTUNATELY HAVE TO PAY FOR IT.

$2,000 to $3,000 to repair damage to a keyed car? Was it keyed with a pick-axe? I'm sorry, but that sounds pretty high, like a custom repaint of the whole car.
I would think your insurance will be asking for more estimates on that one.

If this is your first real car, I feel your pain. I remember when someone whacked the back of my first NEW car with a ball-peen hammer, I was fit to be tied. But that I was able to fill and paint myself. A body shop wanted to replace the whole rear door (hatchback), but nobody could see the damage when I was finished myself, so I knew the body shop thought they saw a sucker coming.

Vandalism claims are covered under Comprehensive coverage, if you carry that on your policy.

As long as you filed a police report and notified your insurance company, you have done your part and they should cover the claim. So long as you have the comp coverage.

You would be responsible to pay the body shop your deductible. Your company will pick up the remainder

The damage you described would be covered under the comprehensive portion of your insurance policy, if you have that. It would be subject to whatever the deductible amount is. You would pay the deductible, and your insurance company would pay the rest.

Get more estimates, that is an insane amount of money to repair paint damage from a keyed car. I replaced my back bumper and repainted it (on a new car) for less than that.
