Why is it that everytime a Republican is in office, we start seeing "The signs of the end of times" programs?

Seriously, when a Democrat is in office, all we see is RISKE' business, dancing in the streets, people getting away with murder, money, money, money floating all over the airwaves like a ticker tape parade, sensational scandalism that beefs up popularity instead of punishment, etc. But when a Republican is in office, it's always shows on how national and global catastrophes that have been happening since the beginning of time and on RECORD are always front and center to being the keys to the final days. And always blaming the Governments for creating them, not preventing them, or not having a warning or rescue system to save lives. I seriously can't figure it out even in my forty years in this ever-growing crazy *** country. I thought it may be the media and movie makers, but all of them can't be Democratic can they?

This is not my opinion, just an observation.

I think you're generalizing too much, and basing your opinion on too narrow of a timeframe.

All right, I'll tell you why I think we see these "end of times" programs. Republicans are generally conservative, and Democrats liberal. (Common knowledge) Furthermore, the Republican party is more solidly composed of upper-middle class and upper-class people (than the Democratic Party). Because of this, Republicans *in general* tend to pass laws that are more favorable of limiting power in general, while still providing more control and tax cuts to large corporations and wealthy people. This undercuts the security of American people by making the poorest ones, who are already struggling at the bottom, fight even harder to survive economically. Eventually, you see the kind of problems America is facing today, such as the issues with oil, the environment, the health care system, even the education system is suffering (though I believe that to be due to standardized testing and lower expectations than any specific political action or agenda...). In America, the middle class is being eliminated thanks to actions by the Bush Adminstration, which is turning America into a corporate-controlled, imperialistic and pathetic excuse for a democratic Republic. America no longer really embodies the things for which she professes to stand, and it's not just registering here as mild chaos, but also abroad where other countries are strongly questioning the country and the government.

Because of these downward trends, people - being on average pessimistic, as is the tendency of most human beings - jump on this "end of the times" bandwagon. Human beings also have a nasty propensity to exaggerate, which only exacerbates the problem.

As for the sensational, Democratic scandalism - well. I'd say there's scandal in every administration, and I don't understand where you're drawing your conclusion that it leads to popularity rather than punishment with Democrats. Let's take the last two presidents as examples: Clinton had extramarital affairs with Monica Lewinsky. Tsk Tsk. Did he become popular? In one sense of the word, yes, as he was on headlines for ages. But he wasn't exactly loved because of it. He even got impeached. Bush, on the other hand, invades an admittedly screwed up country, but not in the true interest of liberating the citizens, rather out of greed and in the interest of supporting all the oil companies he's friends with/part of. He lied more than Clinton did, and not only did he not get impeached, America reached a whole new level of intolerance regarding anti-government sentiments, and Americans banded together to elect him *again*. That's popularity right there, not punishment.

I'm sorry for any offensive tone my little "rant" may have; I have a hard time controlling my emotions when discussing political matters, which is why I usually avoid them in the first place (and why I didn't really answer your question the first time around...).

Also, the oil/the Clinton ordeal are different in two ways.Clinton got impeached, but was acquitted and lied just as much to get off by PLAYING stupid.(Oral sex, etc)and was a lesser offense than killing 1,000鈥檚. Report It

Bush may be impeached one day but not likely because he was instructed by Congress to wage war.Like Hiorhito was just an icon to the Imperial Army. Report It

And it doesn't matter what party the movie producers and directors are, they feed off of either side, especially the doomsday factors because they don't care which way the world is going, just as long as they can sell tickets. Report It

Thus, making it worse with abstract psychology! Report It

Thank you so much for your compliment about my answer! I will keep an eye open for more questions from you. And thanks for pointing out the flaws and speculations in my answer. Report It

By the way, I agree that those doomsday movie producers and directors are *generally* just out for a buck, and don't really care that much about (positively) affecting the world with their films. Too much Hollywood in the world today! Report It

not enough data to back your hypothesis, for you to make these kind of inference, your research must be over a period of years, and i doubt if you did a good job at analyzing american history well.
Try and go back to your history books and study the political trends better
