How long should i wait before opening a dispute with my seller via paypal? |
I ordered the item through the website on October 26, 2007. It went through my Paypal, so it shows up in my account as a "payment sent",and the seller is also a verified seller, but unlike the rest of my paypal transactions through other websites and ebay, it does not show an action where i can check the status of my order. The website said that the item should ship in 3- 5 business days. i have emailed them 4 times and gotten no response. I have about 20 more days to open a complaint in the Paypal resolution Center, but i am afraid of looking like a whiny customer, but at the sae time, i am also worried about losing my money. Am i justified in opening a complaint now? I ordered the item through the website on October 26, 2007. Am i justified in opening a complaint now? You should do it now I would write to them, tell them that you're complaining, and then complaint 12 hours later. That way you can be sure that you gave them all of the chances you could. I think you'd be justified, seeing as how you've been waiting for so long. Umm i did the same thing then ended up getting a negative remark because it took a while to get to me. Normally you get 3 months with e-bay and Paypal but maybe give it another week try calling the seller and seeing if they will give you an answer. Open it tomorrow, as two weeks is enough time ship in 3-5 days, but what type of shipping...ups ground is 6 days...so you should probably have it within a day or so. If you dont have it by the end of this week. File a formal complaint.... If you're that unhappy, file the complaint now. Up to you. Paypal will still cover you if you open the dispute 1 day before the deadline to open it. I sell on ebay and have many different ebay accounts. It makes things confusing because even though the customers have my email address, they choose to contact me through ebay message systems....and sometimes think I ignore them..but because of the type of things I sell, I receive TONS of spam everyday in my ebay message box from "chinese wholesalers" trying to scam me or sell me something so its hard to check all my ebay messages everyday on so many different ebay ids I have. I know you said its a website and not ebay, but make sure you are using the correct contact information. Their paypal email may be different then the email they ask you to contact them at on their actual website. I would wait 1 more week before disputing if you still have 20 days to open a dispute and I would check the postage date on the package if you do receive it. It will be stamped with a day and time if you receive it so you can see if they lied about what day they sent it. who cares if you sound whiny. When I don't get my stuff from eBay in a decent time I start complain, remember the squeaky wheel gets the grease. I had to be Strong where I felt I was getting the run around, So I complain first to the seller to give them a chance to fix the problem. if you get no responds from a strong email stating you will complain if you don't see a tracking number, then I would go to pay pal to get my credit back from the seller. call them they are the best with customer service in the biz some times there is mix ups with e-mails, i know they will hook you up fast, i've been dealing with them for about 4 years. try to contact the seller via the email again, also contact ebay through the questions and answers section they give you.but do realize even the seller's may have computer issues where their computers can go on the fritz, they may become ill. They don't answer their emails daily. And I have even had one seller who became hospitalized once the sale went through and had an unexpected dental surgery happen.Things do happen even to them they are after all human too. Don't think you are the only one they are dealing with either. Some are having alot of customers to deal with some are small folk only handling small sales for the first time. Be patient and before making negative feedback try to contact the seller via email and if you can via the phone number given to you if possible.negative feedback reflects back on you as well as the seller don't forget that. Start now. I had a similar situation and it was through bid-pay. Make sure you document everything and keep on it. There are so many people on these sights that will rip you off without a second thought. Keep all your correspondence and don't give up. Please make sure you do not let 6 months go by so stay on top of it. Good luck |
