Does the Supreme Court hate women, or is it just afraid of them?

Supreme Court Limits Job Discrimination Complaints
The Supreme Court has issued a ruling imposing new limits on employment-discrimination complaints brought mostly by women and people of color. In a five to four opinion, justices ruled discrimination complaints cannot be filed after more than six months. In a rare move, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg read her dissent from the bench and urged Congress to overturn the decision. Business groups like the U.S. Chamber of Commerce are welcoming the judgment while women鈥檚 advocates are voicing criticism. Marcia Greenberger of the National Women鈥檚 Law Center said: 鈥淸This] essentially says tough luck to employees who don鈥檛 immediately challenge their employer鈥檚 discriminatory acts, even if the discrimination continues to the present time.鈥?br> From DemocracyNow!

KV provides a link. I suggest you check it out. It seems to me to further prove the point that the Supreme Court's rule "reveals a lack of appreciation for the real-world challenges that women have to face every day in the workplace," said Debra Ness, president of the National Partnership for Women & Families. "If employers can keep the discrimination hidden for a period of time, they can continue to discriminate without being held accountable."

The article also says that job discrimination is often "insidious".

As for DemocracyNow being biased.... do you mean biased for people and against corporations? Rather than News Corp, biased against people and for corporations? I would suggest that DN! has the kind of bias that gives journalism all its glory. It's a question of profits over people...

6 months doesn't seem like so onerous a requirement. Are there similar limits on filing other types of suits? I'm not sure why you see this as a "women's issue".

After Sandra Day O'Connor? It hates women.

Democracy Now forgot to tell us that she pass the deadline to file the complaint.
"After a trial, Ledbetter was initially awarded more than $3.8 million. A judge reduced the award to $360,000. The 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals overturned the verdict.

Ledbetter also filed suit under another federal law, the Equal Pay Act. The judge dismissed that claim and Tuesday's ruling does not affect pay inequity claims made under that law."

So she failed in appeals tells me that her case wasn't that strong.

As far as Democracy Now you should never ever complain about Fox being bias again using them as your source.

ironic huh. what a free country and equal oppurtunity bla bla bla. this is the same pretty much world wide. until the ameircan people stand up for what is right this is going to keep happening.

they hate women.
