New deal course?

i had to start a new deal course this week.
i got told before i started that i would be at the training center 2 or 3 days a week and out on a work placement the other days and we discussed what placement would help me.
i said either in a hairdressers (i am studying that at college and i would love to get more experience in a proper salon) or in a busy highstreet shop.

when i started on monday i got told everyone has to do jobsearch and update their cv's and learn how to write speck letters. none of this is a problem to me as i have often got interviews by doing this myself i just get so nervous at interviews so i dont get the job.

i said when do i start my placement and they said they hadnt got me one yet and it would be in about 4 weeks time.this shocked me. and this morning they said i had to go into shops and salons and try to get a placement for myself as i dont need to learn about business admin or computers like the rest of the people on the course!

what should i do?

it wasnt what i was told it would be and they treat everyone in the room like they are stupid and make us feel like we are back at school.

all the shops and salon i have been in say they dont take on work experience people because of bad experiences (like things being stolen) or havent sounded very positive.
i dont have to go back untill 1:30pm

If you are not working at the moment - do it - coz they'll stop your JSA payments if you don't!

You don't have to walk around endlessly though - if what they are asking you to do is go to the salons etc - you are probably limited anyway - not like all streets have a salon is it!

Then go back and tell them where you have been and the lack of success you have had - let them do some work - that is what they are paid to do!
