What does it mean when a guy keeps talking about other women hitting on him?

I've got incredible mutual chemistry with this guy. We haven't really progressed our relationship beyond the flirting stage.

Anyway something that bothers me is that now and then he brings up other random women into the conversation. He'll say things like, 'Oh there was this girl who was hitting on me constantly' or something like 'She kept telling me how cute I was'. These are just women he meets in the course of a normal day. The way he says it, it sounds like women keep throwing themselves at him left right and center.

What should I make of this? Sometimes I think he's being cocky and thinks he's God's gift to women, and other times I think maybe it's his insecurity speaking.

Anyone have insights on whats really going on here?? It confuses me just a little because in other aspects of his life he seems like an emotionally-aware guy who can be nice as well as sensitive to how women work. This whole 'other women' business throws me off as I don't get it.

Thanks for the help guys, it sort of follows what I was already thinking. And by the way, he says it to me when we're alone. There's no one else present when we talk, like other guys or anything.

Simple: The guy has a huge EGO. You want to know why you havent gotten passed the flirting stage??? He isnt interested in a REAL relationship. He is too busy basking in all the attention all those women are giving him.

He is insecure. men fear rejection just like we do. tell him it makes me uncomfortable to hear about other women all the time can we use out time just learning more about each other.

that means he is trying to let you know that he could have someone else if he wanted. Although its most likely insecurity.

He's conceited & full of himself. Sometimes they do it to hide insecurities or other areas of "disappointment" LOL but generally their just cocky guys who think they are all that & that women hitting on them is proof of this. Women can be just as bad for the same reasons but guys are worse because their usually wrong LOL & go on & on about it...

It sounds like he's trying to impress you in all the wrong ways. He's insecure, that's all. Try and convey to him that you don't need to be convinced he's an attractive guy. You think he's hot and you don't need him try so hard.

He is being cocky and thinks he is Gods gift to women. I personally think if a guy needs to go thru that much trouble w/ me (like he is jealous of the attention i naturally have), he is soooooo not worth it

#1-he's insecure
#2-he wants to let you know if it doesn't work out between you two, then there are still plenty of other women who still find him attractive
#3-he wants to make you jealous and think about other women wanting him so maybe YOU will make the first move, maybe because he doesn't want to make the first move beyond flirting
#4-he is not that into you and hoping you will take a hint

When he says things like this it shows that he is insecure about himself. Really when women hit on him it is a huge compliment to you because they are showing you that you have good taste in men. He may also be testing you to see if you will get jelous over him.

I believe that he might b trying 2 make u think that he's good enough 4 u. Maybe he thinkd that ur 2 good 4 him so he's trying to "show off" so that u no he can get the "lookers". In another way he could be just braging if there're other guys around. Guys just want 2 b the 1 4 sum but not others. He also might like u alot and he doesn't no how he's maing u feel when he says things like that.
