I am nervous to tell my boss and everyone I am pregnant! Advice please!?

This is my husband's and my first baby. We planned it 100%, but it has just been known to our families and a few close friends.

I am 13 weeks pregnant and I am nervous to tell everyone. I feel like everyone will overwhelm me with attention and I hate being the center of attention. I just want to never tell anyone and let them figure it out when my belly is huge! It just feels so weird to let everyone in my business being that it's my first pregnancy.

I know my boss will make a big deal about it because she has been asking me about getting pregnant soon.

Any advice?

just tell them the sooner you get over with it the better!

don't tell them until your about 25 weeks, this way you only really have to deal with the lime light for a month or so. congrats!!!

Just let him know that when you get pregnant you don't want a big deal out of it and two weeks later tell him you just found out you were pregnant.

Yes.......tell them and except their congratulations and best wishes. This is a happy time for you and your husband.....so share the great news with everyone and enjoy!

Have a party and invite everyone and have a pregnancy theme and they will get the picture- make a big fuss for the night and then get on with it. That way everyone knows at once and you don't have to repeat yourself over and over to everyone.
Congrats, and let them enjoy this time - trust me, it will wear off and then you will be very pregnant and begging for the help.

I gave birth about 10 months ago. Like you, this is our 1st baby. But we didn't plan for him.

Didn't tell anyone in my office at first. But eventually, they figured it out. Yes, people tend to show more attention as well as very helpful. They opened door for me, helped me to carry stuffs etc. I felt odd at first but gradually accept it as I know I will do the same for a co-worker who is pregnant.

I completely understand what you mean. I am 38 weeks pregnant and am feeling like i want to go to the hospital and have the baby and then just visit people with the baby when i am out of hospital - i do not want to be overwhelmed when i am there by well meaning visitors.

I am afraid you are just going to have to bite the bullet and tell them. Its not so bad.

I know what you mean. I am 6 months pregnant and told my boss last month when I started showing. I also hate the attention it brings at work and I simply told him to keep it low key and he did.
