I get calls 10-20 times a day from an 866 number.? |
When I answer they hang up. I called them back a few times, I believe it's a call center for a collection agency. I tell them to stop calling me (they ask for a name of someone I am not familiar with), since I get a different person each time I'm assuming this is a large place. I said I would report them, and was told, "go ahead and report us, we'll still keep calling and harassing you." This is after they admitted they have the wrong number, they have no business with me, and the number is dialed via a computer. My (cell) phone rings continuously while I'm at work or during dinner, I don't want to turn it off in case it's a legitimate call, I just ignore it, but it's harassment, I know it's illegal, what can I do? I registered with the do not call registry and filed a complaint online, and when I googled the number I saw I wasn't the only one they are doing this to. there is an awesome website to enter the number into and find out who is calling you record it, post it online, and give them hell. If it is a collection agency, the dishonest approach is ask for an address to which you can send a payment (just do not agree to send the payment) and then use it to send a letter telling them not to call. I worked with a call center & I'll advice u to stop all this call jst send them a legal notice through ur lawyer on the company name they are calling.Because If we mark the no. as wrong no. still it keeps on calling as the details are with the dialer.To stop all these calls u can only do two things 1) Change ur no. OR 2) Send them a notice.If u send them a notice then they will sized this no. & the dialer cant read the no. so u wont get the call.Bcze online request or sending jst a letter wont help u I knw this think very well only legal notice by the lawyer can help u. you can always give a call to your phone provider to have them block that number or another thing what's fun: |
