Information on how to start a mma gym and fitness center.?

I have been trained in Jiu jitsu, wrestling, Tae Kwon Do -Chung Do Kwan, Karate and Muay Thai. I am an amatuer mma fighter and have trained 2 other amatuer mma fighters . I would like to start training others in the sport I love and develop fighters through their career. any information on license, business plan outlines....etc would be greatly appreciated. Thank you to everyone who answers.

The best routes to take are to research the process of starting a business as well as the industry you're interested in.

I recommend checking out the SBA, Entrepreneur, The Start Up Journal & Nolo. All 4 are great informational resources for the new/small business owner. I posted links for you in the source box.

Associations may be a good avenue to explore. These organizations will address many of the thoughts, questions and concerns you'll inevitably have as well as many you haven't anticipated yet. See the source box for some relevant links.

Research, research, research 鈥?this cannot be stressed enough. Read as much as you can about the industry. Here are some book titles that are relevant:

* Gym Biz: Starting and Running Your Own Gym for Profit by Lou Ravelle
* Small Club Start-up: A Personal Trainer's Guide by Ron Fay
* The Business of Fitness: Understanding the Financial Side of Owning a Fitness Business by Thomas Plummer
* Making Money in the Fitness Business by Thomas Plummer

I also posted links to some free articles in the source box.

Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!

You have alot of experience in martial arts. There's no question about that.

My professional advice is for you to train and offer to train at an existing club since you can't pull one hundred thousand dollars or more out of thin air.

I can tell you that once you build a folowing at an existing club you can make a move to take on more responsibilities in exchange for shares in the club which would make you a part owner and build it from there.

Another way would be for you to rent out space at boys n girls club or some other community rec center and place small classified adds announcing that you are accepting students.

The more students you get eventually the bigger the facility you need. And eventuall your job will get easier as your students will be eager to take on more responsibilities and maybe even instruct classes on your behalf.

While your junior students run the classes you are free to recruit more students and maybe even rent out another facility and branch out.

Eventually you will have the down payment needed to buy a building for your permanent club. And when you have the money to pay for it you will have a huge clientelle of students ready to move in.

Don't think of getting a loan of millions of dollars to set up a club which 2 people will show up on your opening day. Rent space at rec centers get your students to teach classes on your behalf once their good enough and build it up from there.
