In a professional sense, should you call someone back when they leave you a message?

I'm mailing something to someone I did business with. I called them asking for the address but it went to their answering machine. I left a message asking for what address to send the package to. Then they called me back the next day and left me a message telling their address. Should I call them back and let them know i got the message? Would it be impolite not to call them? Or should I just mail it and end it at that. I want to keep a good business relationship with these people but I don't want to get on their nerves.

For business reasons, call them back to let them know the package is in the mail and has been sent to the address left on your machine. It's not impolite if you don't call but it shows good follow up if you do.

I really don't think it matters.

I think of your situation like this: Is there something else you need from them? It sounds like you don't. So there is no reason to tell them that you got the address.

You can always call them later when you need something from them and at the same time thank them for leaving you that message.

here is a way you can tackle this!
if it was left on the message say you couldn't make a part of it out! and call back to be safe!

Hi, yeah sorry to bug you i got the message today but i couldn't make out the street name.. or whatever! can you clairfiy?

You should call them back, say thank you for the information, the package has been mailed to the address detailed in the message (this will also make sure you got the right address), and if they need anything further, please let you know.

yes even if they tell you some information you need to call them back to tell them that you received the information they gave you.

Just call back to verify the address you got and let them know that its in the mail.

It would be impolite to not give them a call.

I'm sure that just mailling it will suffice.
