Where must I file my small claims case |
I live in Iowa and subscribed to a magazine over the phone (publishing company is based in Florida) and I am wanting to know where I need to file a small claims case at when they changed the terms of the original agreement and owe me $ (they are trying to give me extra subscribtions instead). I signed up over the phone and don't have a actual copy of the contract. I just have my credit card statement. I know it must usually take place where the defendent resides, but I think there are different rules in cases of contracts (like where it was breached or services delivered) or purchases from a business. see this website for example under 'where to file" The only person who can give you as definitive an answer as you want is an Iowa attorney. |
