If they are physically located in another state, I can still sue them if they do business in my state right? You can't sue a web site. You may be able to sue its owner. In general, maintaining a website does not constitute it's owner's doing business in a particular state. "Doing business" is more than that; such as maintaining a mailing address, having employees, maintaining full time business office, having a business license, registering a vehicle, etc. How much more depends upon the state. You can track down the nominal owner of a web site through the ICANN registry. |
