We need to address minority health needs by more coverage & targeting. (Mar 2007) What about the majority?
I am a manager at a business and we have an employee that makes around 60,000 a year working with us and he earns every dollar plus he had to take a second job on weekends to help ends meet. He has a wife and one child on his private insurance and he pay's over 600.00 dollars a month on catastrophic health insurance. It does not cover medicine or regular Dr. visits. It is only incase something major should come up. Now tell me, dont you think he needs help but because he is non minority and working he would not qualify for help. But yet a person can stay at home and pop out many kids and then the government will turn around and give them and all their children the medical card, food stamps, pay their rent for an award of not working and having kids. I just think it is wrong!!

He can't add. His healthcare plan would cost more than $1.2 trillion a year. America cannot afford it.

er... his plan addresses the needs of everyone...

it is MANDATORY coverage on all children... so that covers the guys kid...

then it gives reduced rates, maybe even free, to those that don't make much...

it may have added protection for some minorities, but it also covers a large portion of non-minorities...

but, it sounds like your friend is getting ripped off... I've looked around on the net and noticed much better rates, at least in the states I've lived in...

or maybe he should just quit if your company can't offer him insurance... sounds like he could take a pay cut and come out on top if another company paid his insurance... which many do...
