Can my website be linked with and do business with other companies? |
Or can it? Is this what Google does? I don't know anything about ecommerce or computers but here's what I'd like to do: purchase a domain name, have links to whateverbusiness.com on my website, then get paid by whateverbusiness.com if someone goes from my site to theirs and purchases something? Is this legal? Is it difficult to do? Too easy? If something were to happen - maybe a package didn't get sent or became lost - who would be at fault, me or whateverbusiness.com? I guess I'd have some legal documents to cover this. Plus, I can buy a domain name for about $20 a year. But will just having a domain name allow me to do the above? Don't I need a website with email addresses, tracking tools, maintenance of the website (updates, spam/virus protection/etc.)? How much does it cost to do this? My idea sounds too easy. Is it? If it doesn't make sense, let me know and I'll add on. Thanks for your time. It does make sense that you would want to start up your own e-commerce business. You can purchase your domain name, but I would have a professional in this area set up your website and explain to you that you can have other companies advertise on your website for a fee. Some websites are set up for just that purpose and nothing else. Depending on what you want on your website depends on how much it will cost you. Some professionals will charge any where from 200.00 up to 500.00 or more. Check your yellow pages, make some calls and get some estimates and go from there. Ask about other customer websites they have set up. If they are reputable they won't have a problem with the question. Maybe you would take this short tour guide , ist about SBI and how you can learn everything while building your own business site. |
