Did my sons actions merit these consequences?

My 13 year old son never seemed like the type of boy that would cause disrepute in my family.

Despit this, a few days ago the cleaning lady told me she had found brand name condoms and cigarettes in my son's jeans.

My wife and I frequent on business trips in europe and asia, therefore we did not have much time to address these issues and confront our son about underage sex and whatnot.

Therefore we immediately decided just to send him off to military school. We presumed this would be enough for the case to solve itself out.

That's exactly the problem - you sent him away to solve itself. No, that's not going to help him! You guys are not parenting him at all! You need to spend time with him! YOU need to talk to him, not just send him off! No wonder why he's doing that, he has no parents! You're lucky that's all he's doing for now! Why have a child if you're not going to parent them???

Military school involves strict discipline, which often isn't the answer. He may get kicked out, but it might work well for him and his future. You both need a wake up call. Parents who neglect their children and run all over the world should probably not be parents. It's a shame you put the business world ahead of your son.

Stop depending on others to do your job for you! Be responsible parents and instead of tossing him aside, start spending more time with your son.

even though the actions might fit the punnishment the way u handled it did not, ur son if probably acting this way because u r not their fo him so he acts out

ur basically just driving him away which in the long run will cause relationship issues and his own issues, in fatc he seems to be in this mess beacuse of u i mean u dont event tell him y, u dont even talk to him about wats on his mind because u dont ave time, no wonder hes done wat hes done, i think ur the one to blame here and u should try and fix things with ur son before he acts out even more or u'll never be close to him again
