Suspicion of criminal mischief... help? |
my friends and i were looking for a place to go take a piss around 930pm after we had some mcdonalds... the three of us couldnt find a place so my buddy parked next to my old elementary school so we could go in the bushes next to the place. Well, after we did our business, we started walking back when a cop stopped us, and told us he was going to charge us with suspicion of mischief because some school windows were broken. I gave the police officer my name and he asked me if i still lived at the same address and i said yes, and then he told us we could leave. A few weeks later, they showed up at my house, claiming that i gave them my name but the wrong address and then ran away with my friends when i did no such thing. i have no support from my parents at all and i have no idea what to do. i cant afford to pay off any fines at the moment because i dont make that kind of money. i am wondering if i should be worried or not.. i didn't do anything. we were going to take a PEE*. ignore the four stars The police can arrest you but they are not the ones who can find you guilty or not guilty. That's for the judge and or jury. You are innocent unless they prove (beyond a reasonable doubt) that you are guilty. Do not give them any statements or anything they may misunderstand to be incriminating. The burden of proving guilt is entirely on the police. If they do not have proof beyond a reasonable doubt, you must go free. if you didn't do anything, then you shouldn't worry.. you're young.. it's your first offense.. be more worried of your parents than the law at your age.. if you really didn't do anything, then don't sweat it.. remember.. don't sweat the petty.. pet the sweaty Here's the bottom line: if the police actually charge you - that is, they actually write you a ticket and set you a court date - you'll be able to tell your side of the story to a judge. thats the police for u |
