Knowingly hiring an illegal immigrant?

How would you address the issue of a friend owning their own business and hiring illegal immigrants to work for them?

This person is a resident here, not a citizen yet themselves. He is gay, married a woman to get his residency in the states and now opened a business, he now lives with his boyfriend.
I have made my views made on this type of practice, but this obviously has lead to arguments and jeopardizing a friendship.

Would you bite your tongue because it's a friend of yours or would would handle it a different way?

I'm not looking to have this mans life destroyed, but I am in the firm belief that breaking the law is wrong.
I want Gay marriage to be legal, yet clearly he is abusing the system. He marry's a woman to come here, then lives with his boyfriend. We want workplaces to be fair and safe for everyone, how can it be if people are hiring illegals and work for less than min, wage, no workers comp, no disabiltiy, no insurance, obviously is is not reporting pay and tax legally either.

I'm friends with the American boyfriend, not the business owner.

I really don't have any "underlying motives". This thing just really bothers me. Do we just sit back and say, if it doesn't effect me personally, then who cares? Just currious on others opinions here. Thanks

It doesn't seem to me that he is hurting anybody. Try thinking of it from his point of view. He came here illegally, yes, but why? I, as an immigrant, know how hard it can be to get into America legally, and I only came in as a refugee, so it was even easier for me to get into the country legally. But he isn't, and he is only trying to improve his life for himself and the people he loves, i think you should just let it be. Hope this helps

You should call USCIS and/or your State department of labor.

It's even easier to make your report here.... http://www.reportillegals.com/

They will pass on the report to all relevant agencies, which is easier than you doing each one individually.

I would handle it by anonymously reporting the business owner to the proper authorities. It's not only illegal it hurts our economy.

talk to him and ask for his point of view then if u still feel that it is wrong then explain to him what u are feeling , he will understand, but be careful on what u say......
