I recently lost my job (mutual agreement to separate) and have not had the courage to tell my friends.?

My friends continue to ask about work and I live a double life pretending that I am still at work from Monday through friday. I recently met a great guy and tell him I am still working. I know he wonders why I never call him from a workphone and he has never seen my work e-mail address. These lies are killing me and I hope to find a job soon.

My experience level is kinda managerial and it may take me a while to find something. Sometimes, I wish I had told him the truth earlier, but I really think it is too late to fess up. Anyone been in this situation before? Any advice for me? I'm sure he will start suspecting something soon, but I am too embarassed to let him know I am unemployed. I know a relationship should not start with untruths but...

Sometimes, I think my unemployment status is nobody's business. However, carrying on this "secret" is exhausting sometimes.

you can tell them now. It is pretty hard to live a lie, even tho,
like you said it really is not anyone business. They are
not supporting you.
Tell them you were embarrassed to say that you lost your job,
through mutual agreement to separate and that is that.
You think, you will have more time with his great guy you met,
until you find another job.....he will maybe help you along
with your friends.
It's your life......do not be embarrassed.
You just felt is was not time to tell them.
Now you did....will it really affect them...I don't think so.

if they are true friends and you have a good relashinship with this guy then they will understand:)
maybe they will even help you along with the job hunt!
